Do I still have a chance to get a higher preferred school after the placement?

Yes. A school that has drawn lots during the official placement is obliged to first offer any (new) available places to the children who were not placed at that school. During the official placement, these children (who were not placed on a higher school of preference) are placed on a waiting list (in order of the placement method) in the application of the school in question. If a vacancy comes up after the placement this place is offered to the first child of the waiting list. By the time a child turns four it is deleted form this list. There will be no benefit in contacting the school to inquire whether any availability for places has arisen after the placement as a free place is always for the first child of the waiting list.
